Classroom Technology

Instructor Computer

This classroom has Apple iMac computers installed with MacOS 11.

  1. The power button for the instructor computer is on back left corner of the device. 

  2. The instructor computer is connected to a piano keyboard. The keyboard can be played through the speaker on the instructor desk, or used as a MIDI input for programs such as GarageBand, Logic, and Ableton. 

  3. To login to the instructor station please use your HCC Login Credentials. If you are unable to login with your HCC Credentials, please contact the Technology Service Center by calling (443) 518-4444 ext. 3, or by using this link to create a service request. Please indicate if you would like immediate assistance, and a technician will respond to the classroom to assist you. 

Please do not save files on the instructor station. User profiles are regularly wiped from the computer and any saved information will be lost.

AV Control Systems

If you are experiencing issues with the audio, projection, or the control panel please contact the Technology Service Center by calling (443) 518-4444 ext. 3, or by using this link to create a service request. Please indicate if you would like immediate assistance, and a technician will respond to the classroom to assist you. 

To use the AV control system:

  1. The projector and classroom speaker are controlled through the AV control panel mounted on the left corner of the instructor lectern. The projector screen will be automatically lowered and raised when the projector is powered on or off. 

  2. Tap the power button on the touch panel in the bottom right corner

  3. Select which source you would like to display from, and tap the icon

    1. Far left icon: “PC” - Instructor’s station computer

    2. Middle icon: Laptop (make sure to plug in your device to the provided HDMI cord)

    3. Far right icon: “DOC CAM“ - Document camera (make sure to turn the document camera on first)

  4. There are other controls for the volume and projector screen which can be seen in the second picture below

 

 

 

Student Computers

This classroom has 15 student iMacs with piano keyboards attached via USB. The piano keyboards can be used as MIDI inputs.
