3. Using Visio Editor (Quick guide)

Summary

We'll walk you through using the basics of Visio.


Adding Shapes

You can add "shapes" to the diagram by clicking and holding on the shape in the left side, then dragging it onto the document, then release the mouse


Changing a shape color

You can change the shapes color by clicking on the shape, then clicking on the Paint Bucket to select a new color


Linking Shapes/Drawing Lines between shapes

You can draw lines between shapes by:
Moving your mouse over the first shape, a set of green circles will appear next to the shape.
Click on the green circle and hold down the click, then move your mouse to the object you want to connect.
Then release your mouse on the green circle for the connecting object


Adding text to a shape

Click twice (double click) on the shape to open the text editor. Type in the text, then click on the page elsewhere to leave the text editor.


You can customize the size/font of the text by clicking on the shape, then using the font/size options in  the ribbon/toolbar


Adding more shape sets/types

You can add more shapes to the left side by clicking the  + button, you can then switch between shape sets using the icons on the left side
