Secure FTP to facultyweb

How to securely transfer files from/to facultyweb using FileZilla.

1. Download the Filezilla client from http://filezilla-project.org/ and install
2. Open Filezilla and Setup a connection to classweb
3. Go to File – Site Manager

1. Click New Site

1. Under My Sites name the new entry facultyweb
2. On the General tab complete as follows:
   1. Host: - enter facultyweb.howardcc.edu
   2. Protocol: - choose FTP – File Transfer Protocol
   3. Encryption: - Choose Require explicit FTP over TLS
   4. Logon Type: - choose Ask for password
   5. User: - your HCC login ID (the same username you use for your email)
   6. Don't enter anything for password

1. On the Transfer Settings tab – Transfer mode: - check Passive

1. Click connect

1. Enter your password

1. You will receive a warning about the server's certificate, check the checkbox to trust the certificate and click OK.

1. A connection to facultyweb will be made and you will be able to see your files in your folder on facultyweb on the right side of the screen. Local files on your computer will appear on the left side of the pane. You can drag and drop files between both sides and to/from your desktop .
