BMGT - Installing Microsoft Project
Students in a business, accounting, computer systems, or cisco class can get an educational license for Microsoft Project through the Business and Computer Systems division.
If you are not taking one of these courses you will need to purchase Project from Microsoft.
If you have a Mac you will need to install Windows 10 on your Mac in order to install Project, see HERE for instructions for install Windows 10 on a Mac.
- Open Azure Devtools for Teaching at the below URL
https://azureforeducation.microsoft.com/devtools - Click the sign in button and show the sign in
- Enter in your @howardcc.edu email address, or if you don't know your email you can also enter in your username@howardcc.edu like below and sign in
- It may ask you for a phone number to verify, enter one and confirm. (It may not work with VoIP providers like Google Voice)
- Enter in the verification code
- Review and accept the end user license agreement if it prompts for one
- Select software in the left side
- Click on the Project version your instructor requested
- Click View Key to get the install key
- Click Generate URL to generate a URl to download
- Click on the two pieces of paper to the right to copy the URL
- Open a new tab and paste in the URL to download it
- When it finished downloading, double click on the file in your Downloads
- This will open a virtual disk drive, run setup.exe
- If you see a message about having an older version of Office see Installing Office 365
If you get the below message, click the "install 64 bit" button - It will install hidden in your taskbar , if you click on it twice it will pop up a window like below showing the status
This will take quite some time to install. - It will show something like the below when it finishwa
- Launch Project
- Enter in the Product Key you got from Step 9, then click Install. Don't worry you can go back into the website and click "View Key" again to get the key.
Click the "Activate Office" button that shows up after you enter the key. - Click "Accept" if it prompts for you to accept an agreement (it may not do this step)
- You're now ready to use project.
