Installing Oracle Virtualbox

  1. Open https://virtualbox.org
    1. Click the large "Download" button

    2. Download the Virtualbox for your platform
      Also download the VirtualBox Extension Pack → this will provide a better experience for you

  2. Once they are downloaded launch the VirtualBox installer
    Make sure you arn't downloading anything else, installing Virtualbox will interrupt your network for this computer momentarily
    1. Click Next

    2. Click Next

    3. Click Next>
      You can uncheck any of these boxes if you don't want shortcuts, or file associations, etc..
    4. Click 'Yes"

    5. Click "Install"

    6. When a dialog like below pops up, click Install

    7. Click "Finish", it defaults to automatically launching Virtualbox

  3. Virtualbox will open
    1. Under File click on Preferences

    2. Open "Extensions"
      Click the + sign icon on the right side
    3. Browse to the Virtualbox Extension Pack you downloaded in step 1 and open it

    4. Click "Install"

      1. Read through the license, if you agree, click "I Agree"

      2. A message stating it installed successfully should appear
        If you get an error, run VirtualBox as Administrator and try to install the Extension Pack again
    5. You can close VirtualBox now
