- Select the HCCSTUDENT wifi in the bottom right of the wifi selection
It should pop up saying you need to authenticate in a browser. If nothing pops up open your browser to
http://1.1.1.1Expand title If you get an error loading 1.1.1.1 click here If you get an error with text like NXDOMAIN in it, you probably have your computer setup to not use automatic DNS. You can change this by doing the below.
- Click on the start button and then select the gear icon for Settings
- Open Network and Internet
- Click the Change adapter options button
- Select the card with Wifi in it's text
- Right click on it and select Properties
- Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and then Click on the Properties button
- Make sure "Obtain DNS server address automatically" is selected
- Click OK
- Close
- Click on the start button and then select the gear icon for Settings
- Sign in with your username and password.
MacOS steps
- Connect to HCCSTUDENT Wifi in the top right
- It should automatically open the login page for HCCStudent.
Enter in your username and password for HowardCC- If the above doesn't automatically open, then open http://1.1.1.1 in Safari and sign in
- If the above doesn't automatically open, then open http://1.1.1.1 in Safari and sign in
- You'll be connected
Mac OS - Change DNS
If the above doesn't work and you get something like the below you may need to change your DNS server following the below
- Under the Wifi icon, open the "Network Preferences" option
- Click the "Advanced" button in the bottom right
- Open the DNS tab
- Click the - button until any servers listed disappear and the servers are greyed out like the right photo
- Click OK
- Open Safari, browse to open http://1.1.1.1 and sign in
