Oracle Virtualbox
- Open VirtualBox

- Click the "New" button to create a new VM

- Name the VM "Fedora 28"
Select "Linux" as the type
Select "Fedora (64 bit)" as the version

- Change the memory amount to 2048 MB

- Select "Create a virtual hard disk now", and click the "Create" button

- Leave as "VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image)" and click "Next"

- Leave as "Dynamically Allocated" and click "Next"

- Change it to be 16 GB for the hard drive size

- You will now see the Fedora 28 VM

- Click "Settings"

- Select "Storage"
Select the Empty CD drive under "Controller: IDE"
Click on the CD on the right side

- Click on "Choose Virtual Optical Disk File..."

- Browse to the ISO you downloaded from getfedora.org
Click "Open"

- Check the box for "Live CD/DVD"

- Click the "Controller: SATA" then click the add hard disk button on the right

- Click on "Create new disk"

- Leave as "VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image)" and click "Next"

- Leave as "Dynamically Allocated" and click "Next"

- Change it to be 16 GB for the hard drive size
Name it "FedoraDisk2"
Click "Create"

- You should now have two disks, click "OK"

- Click "Start" to boot the VM

- When you click on it, it may pop up a message, just click the "Capture" button
VMware Workstation
- Open VMware Workstation

- Click "Create a New Virtual Machine"

- Use the "Typical (Recommended)" option, click Next

- Select "Installer Disk Image"
Click "Browse

- Browse to the Fedora ISO downloaded from getfedora.org and click "Open"

- It should detect Fedora 64 bit, click "Next"

- Name the VM "Fedora 28", click Next

- Click "Next"

- Click "Finish"
Uncheck "Power on this virtual machine after creation"

- Right click on the "Fedora 28" in VMware Workstation and click on settings

- Click "Add..."

- Make sure "Hard disk" is selected, then click "Next"

- Leave it at SCSI and click next

- Leave as "Create a new disk", click Next

- Click "Next"

- Click "Finish"

- You will see two hard disks, click "OK"
- It may pop up a message about removable devices, click "OK"

Installing Fedora
- Press the enter key to start booting the Fedora 28 ISO

- Click on the "Install to Hard Drive" option

- Click "Continue"

- Click on the "Installation Destination" button in the middle

- Double click Click on the first Disk to select it, then click Done

- Click "Begin Installation"

- It will begin the install

- Click the "Quit" button

- In the top right, click the power icon
Click the power icon in the dropdown

- Click "Power off"

- Remove the disk from the VM so it doesn't boot into the ISO
- VirtualBox:
- Click Settings

- Under "Storage"
Select the Fedora ISO
Click the CD Icon to the right
Click on "Remove Disk from Virtual Drive"

- VMware Workstation
- Right click on "Fedora 28" VM and click on "Settings"

- Select CD/DVD
Uncheck "Connect at power on"
Set it to use physical drive

- Start the VM again
- It will open a welcome screen, click "Next"

- Click "Next"

- Click "Skip"

- Enter in your name, click "Next"

- Setup a password such as "Password01", then click next

- Click "Start using Fedora"

- You can sign in by clicking on your name, or shutdown by clicking on the power button in the top left

- Shutdown when you are done so Fedora doesn't continue consuming Memory.
